About the Co-Authors
Carol McAdoo Rehme
Author - Editor - Speaker
Carol claims motherhood
as her most impo rtant
calling. Her four children – born in a six-year span – left home
at the same rate in which they arrived. Now “grammy” to three,
she finds herself once again dispensing counsel, cookies, and
kisses.
A prolific author and editor for the Chicken
Soup for the Soul series, Carol feathers her empty nest
as an award-winning writer. She is the co-author of five gift
books and actively freelances and ghost-writes
for multiple publications and corporations.
Carol divides her time and attention between the
keyboard and her other passion – directing a grassroots
nonprofit agency. Vintage Voices, Inc., provides interactive,
energetic arts programs to the frail elderly across Northern
Colorado. From this vantage point among the aged, Carol taps
into cross-generational insight and wisdom that emphasize the
importance of maintaining family ties.

Patricia Cena Evans
Patricia Cena Evans has gained valuable insight,
understanding and compassion during her twenty-year
professional career as a Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner
and Certified Nurse-Midwife, free-lance author, speaker, wife,
mother and empty nester. She has experienced first-hand her own
precious children growing into adults and leaving the nest. She
is appreciative of the multiple roles and life-stages women face
– women who feel the “empty nest” is often over-looked and
under-realized as a traumatic time in their lives, and mentors
them through the passages from one season to the next. The most
important thing she instills -- whatever life-phase they may
find themselves -- is the comfort that they are never alone on the journey.
